Simpson Model 360 Digital Multimeter
This is a meter that was given to me. It was still in its original case and has an original manual with a schematic. It's not functioning so it going to need some troubleshooting to get it working again.

The outside of the meter is in good shape thanks to the carry case it was in. The 360 has a different style analog "meter" than the 360-2 and the circuitry is different between the two. The 360 version also has a built in AC power supply.

After inspecting the circuity inside I removed the 45 year old NiCad battery cells and checked the fuses to make sure they are the correct values. Only one wasn't.

I tried to power the meter up with new alkaline batteries but it didn't work. Before attempting to power it on AC I checked the power supply and replaced the old electrolytic capacitors. Powering it up on AC all digits light and are all zeros, but the meter is still dead on batteries.
A little troubleshooting found the relay contacts inline with the batteries were open, but I was able to get them working again and now battery power is good, but it's still displaying all zeros.

Next I'll need to troubleshoot why the readout is all zeros no matter what the input level. It does not go over range on the ohms scales either.
