Astro-Tech AT6RC 6” Astrograph
The AT6RC is a Ritchey-Chrétien astrograph. The f/9 optical system is designed for coma-free imaging, yielding a field almost 1° wide, and is a good match with APS-C size CCD chips. I am also using the Astro-Tech 2" Field Flattener (AT2FF) in the optical train to ensure pin-point stars to the edge of the field.
Here is the AT6RC on an Atlas mount with an Orion ST-80 guide scope atop. The guide scope is attached using an ADM mini dovetail system (MDS) bar and rings. The camera is an SBIG ST-8300C and the guide camera is the QHY-5.
The scope is a bit heavy on the camera end even after sliding the scope as far forward as I can in the saddle of the EQ-6. So I drilled and tapped a 1/4"x20 hole in the front of the dovetail mounting bar for attaching small counterweights to balance everything.
